Instituto Sanidad Ganadera, Argentina acquired by Ceva

New company will build on strong biological expertise and expand Ceva’s platform in South American zone.

Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 2011:

Ceva Santé Animale (Ceva) acquired Instituto Sanidad Ganadera (ISG), a family owned business specializing in the development and production of biologicals for ruminants.

ISG has a long scientific tradition, founded in 1940 by Dr. Oscar Enrique Argento; the company has since then followed his vision to provide vaccines of the highest quality to the veterinary profession.
ISG markets key ruminant vaccines to combat respiratory, clostridial, tuberculosis and abortive disease problems.

Dr.Enrique Argento commented: “Instituto Sanidad Ganadera was always dedicated to serve the veterinary profession and devoted its efforts to develop new technologies to keep pace with the constant evolution in animal health. Therefore we strongly believe in this new venture with Ceva Santé Animale, because we share the same philosophy.”

The acquisition marks Ceva’s first direct entry into this important market and extends its range of ruminant vaccines available to the rest of the group.

Commenting on the acquisition Dr. Gabriel Rshaid, Commercial Operations Director, Ceva said:

“We are delighted to conclude this deal with the Argento family, who share our ideals of achieving better global health through providing biologicals of the highest possible quality and safety through the veterinary profession.”
